Tagore O. Subramaniam

Biography

Tagore Subramaniam is a Senior Associate Attorney at Matern Law Group. Mr. Subramaniam’s practice involves representing individuals in all aspects of litigation. He has extensive experience in both class action and single-plaintiff disputes.

Mr. Subramaniam received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles where he was awarded the Regents Scholarship. He graduated from UCLA summa cum laude and received his Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law. Prior to joining MLG, Mr. Subramaniam worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Sandra S. Ikuta on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

At MLG, Mr. Subramaniam supervises an active caseload regularly appearing in California state and federal courts.  Mr. Subramaniam has successfully appealed cases to the Ninth Circuit and California Court of Appeal.  He served as lead appellate counsel in the recently published decision Julian v. Glenair, 17 Cal.App.5th 853 (2017). 

Since 2012 Mr. Subramaniam has obtained over sixty-million-dollars on behalf of thousands of California workers against the state’s top defense firms. Mr. Subramaniam recently settled cases for $8,500,000.00, $3,750,000, $2,000,000.00, $1,900,000.00, and $1,750,000.00, pending court approval. His cases have been featured in Time, CNN, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Bloomberg and other  publications. Mr. Subramaniam has presented multiple continuing legal education seminars to attorneys on employment class actions, as well as contributed to trade publications on the subject.

Mr. Subramaniam’s work has led him to be recognized as a Southern California Rising Star every year since 2016. In 2018 and 2019 Mr. Subramaniam was named among the Top 100 Up and Coming Rising Stars in Southern California as published in Los Angeles Magazine.
