Isabelle Shepard is an Associate Attorney at Matern Law Group. She represents employees in all aspects of employment litigation, including wage and hour class and representative actions as well as individual claims for harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination. Isabelle strives to enforce the rights of workers, as no person can flourish in their career without a safe and healthy work environment.
Isabelle obtained her B.A. from UC Santa Barbara with a double major in Communication and Film & Media Studies. Prior to law school, Isabelle started her legal career as a legal assistant and has been passionate about plaintiff-side litigation ever since.
Isabelle earned her J.D. from UC Davis School of Law. During law school, Isabelle received the Reynoso Academic Excellence Award for the highest grade in Employment Discrimination. Isabelle interned for the Hon. Glenn Kim of Contra Costa Superior Court and worked as a Student Counselor for the Center for Workers’ Rights. Additionally, Isabelle participated in oral advocacy, as she competed twice in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition, received 7th Place in the Thomas Jefferson National Sports Law Negotiation Competition, and served on the boards of the UC Davis Moot Court Honors Board and King Hall Negotiations Team. Isabelle was honored to represent incarcerated clients at the UC Davis Civil Rights Clinic, advocating for better living environments in jails and prisons throughout California. In her free time during law school, Isabelle was part of King Hall’s Law Cappella group.
Outside of work, Isabelle enjoys travel, hiking, reading, and cooking. She has been involved in the arts her whole life, and to this day creates digital art, attends live theater, and listens to live music.
