Kayvon Sabourian

Associate Attorney

Kayvon Sabourian is an Associate Attorney at Matern Law Group, PC, with extensive experience protecting the rights of employees and victims of sex crimes.  Mr. Sabourian has experience in both trial and appellate courts and has experience practicing in various courts across the United States.  Prior to joining Matern Law Group, Mr. Sabourian worked at the Equal Justice Center, a Texas-based nonprofit law firm, where his practice focused on representing guestworkers and immigrants in employment cases.

In addition to his legal work, Mr. Sabourian has effectively advocated for changes to government policies.  In 2014, Mr. Sabourian organized a diverse coalition of local workers and taxpayers, who successfully advocated for better pay for workers on government-funded projects.  In 2015, Mr. Sabourian helped in the reprioritization of taxpayer money earmarked for the hiring of more police officers to after-school programs, parks and libraries.  Mr. Sabourian’s litigation and advocacy has been covered by The New York Times, The Nation, the Austin American-Statesman, and the Austin Chronicle.  The Nation called Mr. Sabourian’s litigation work on behalf of a group of guestworkers “one of the largest human trafficking cases in US history.”  Since joining Matern Law Group, Mr. Sabourian has continued to advocate effectively for workers and recovered millions of dollars for California employees.
