Rania Habib, Senior Associate Attorney
Rania Habib is a Senior Associate Attorney at Matern Law Group, PC.
Ms. Habib has represented employees exclusively as a labor and employment law attorney. She has focused her practice on litigating discrimination claims including sexual harassment, disability, race and age discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination, as well as FMLA/CFRA issues. Ms. Habib is also experienced in handling wage and hour class actions involving violations such as overtime, meal and rest breaks, minimum wage, and improper wage statements.
Ms. Habib has been involved in all stages of the litigation process, from initial assessment of a case through drafting and arguing law and motion including summary judgments, class certifications and attorney fee motions, participating in six- and seven-figure settlements, second-chairing an arbitration and several jury trials, and successfully appealing and opposing several appeals. Notably, Ms. Habib served as co-trial counsel and later successfully appealed the defense verdict in Pantoja v. Anton (2011) 198 Cal. App. 4th 87, which resulted in an important published opinion that clarified and expanded the scope of admissible “me too” evidence in sexual harassment actions.
