Beatriz Alfaro is an Associate Attorney at Matern Law Group, PC. Ms. Alfaro represents employees in all aspects of employment litigation, including taking and defending depositions, motion practice, trial preparation and mediations. Ms. Alfaro predominantly represents employees in individual actions, including actions involving harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination, against private and public employers. Ms. Alfaro also handles wage and hour class and representative actions.
Ms. Alfaro earned a Bachelor of Arts and graduated summa cum laude from Loyola Marymount University. While at LMU, Ms. Alfaro participated in the UCLA Law Fellows program and the Latino Leadership Initiative at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Having a passion for promoting diversity and gender equality, Ms. Alfaro graduated from UC Davis School of Law, also known as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Hall (King Hall). In 2015, Ms. Alfaro externed for Associate Justice Elena Duarte at the Third District Court of Appeal. Post-graduation, she secured a Civil Rights Fellowship with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH).
Ms. Alfaro was named a Southern California Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2020 and 2021. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
