Biography

Matthew Scammahorn is an Associate Attorney at Matern Law Group and represents clients in all aspects of employment litigation, including single-plaintiff and class and representative action lawsuits. Matthew is passionate about advancing workers’ rights and empowering vulnerable people.

Matthew earned his J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law in 2025 and was admitted to the California State Bar that year. While attending law school, he dedicated more than 120 hours to pro bono causes and was awarded Pro Bono Honors upon graduation. Pro bono projects that Matthew worked on include Legal Aid at Work’s Workers’ Rights Clinic, UC Irvine’s Saturday Academy of Law, and the Union Grievance Assistance Project. Matthew also worked as a Summer Law Clerk at the Writers Guild of America, West during the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike and gained valuable experience.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys playing music on his piano and guitar, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his family.
